I really wanted to like this stand, because it seemed like it would have been perfect for my needs. It was very sturdy and compact when I took it out of the box, and everything looked like it should. I set it up without the help of instructions that were not included. I adjusted the height accordingly for my trombone, but soon found out was wrong with it. After I put the trombone's weight on the stand, the adjusting piece that holds up the trombone by the bell gave way and began to slide down the rod, and my trombone went when with it. I found out that the only thing that holds up the trombone's weight is a small plastic clamp that is supposed to pinch against the side of the rod, that operates by a switch on the side of the bell holder. The bell holder does not click or lock into place, and the mediocre pinching mechanism did not even work brand new out of the box. The durability, and portability of this stand is useless unless it can actually hold up a trombone safely. It is a very poor design flaw by Hercules. I normally really like their stands for guitars and mics, but this is a bust.
It's very expensive, considering that it can't even hold up the weight of a trombone.
